BARRAZA WINS ACCÉSIT PRIZE - III IBEROAMERICAN BIENNIAL

The III Iberoamerican Biennial of Graphic Work 'City of Cáceres-2016' in Spain received a total of 200 works from 18 different countries.

The jury was composed of the most prestigious experts in this artistic media such as the professor and director of the Electrography Museum of Cuenca, José Ramón Alcalá; the director of the Madrid Institute for Contemporary Art, Elena Vozmediano; the National Engraving Award, Jesús Pastor; the director of the Engraving Museum of Marbella, José María Luna; and the director of the Joan Miró Foundation Workshops at Palma de Mallorca, Joan Oliver.

The Biennial is organized by the Concejalía de Cultura of the Cáceres City Council, that defines the event as "the most relevant" of contemporary graphic work in the country and "an important international reference".

Title of the work Accésit prize is “Cabeza Rodante” (Rolling Head), in etching and drypoint on Arches paper. It consists of a polyptic of eight parts, each: Paper 28.7 x 25.5 cm and 17.5 x 17.5 cm print. The total length of the piece is 204 cms.

The winning and selected works will be exhibited at the Palace of the Isla de Cáceres, Spain, from May 20 to June 30th 2009.
